Hi,

My old Toshiba CDROM/DVD player played DVD's properly about two months ago, but recently, I have been having problems. Audio cds and multimedia cds play fine, but DVD's won't play. I use winDVD and after I've opened the program to play the DVDs, the program freezes up. After I've shut it down and tried to restart it, I get an error message saying another application is preventing DVD playback. PCFriendly as well as PowerDVD cause similar problems. I've reinstalled these programs as well, but still no luck. I know it's not a hardware problem because I just received a new SamSung SD-612 CDROM from Dell, replacing the Toshiba.I called in for tech support many times already and I get different solutions. Any suggestions as to how to resolve this problem?

Any help will be apprecited.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
