After taking a second look and a second look at it I concluded that if I were somehow to effect a fix it would not be what the radio is capable of with appropriate high-tech treatment.
So instead of fix-it help I need a recommendation for a technician specializing hopefully in Magnavox who can fix it for me?

Unit powers up and plays fine on FM. On all other bands, the display and keyboards work and change the band, but no audio. I can however hear an occasion click during switching indicating the speaker works, but there is no audio, no rushing sound.
I am grateful to have electronic schematic and ino. So electronically I am okay. but I lack instructions for disassembly without which I don't want to go. I had a look and I need to avoid going blindly.
The dial light is also out, same issue. How to get to it?
Beyond that it looks like a good radio. Two silver caps off top line of buttons missing. I hope to find some online somehow. They pry right off or on. Happy Holidays!
