| yes it is about the most serious problem you can have, it sounds like the crt is going intermittently short circuit on the green gun, unfortunately this is a common problem with philips crts. | |

Hi my Philips 28pw6515 has started turning itself off or I should say turning the tube off this has been happening quite randomly and infrequently till recently now it spends more time off than on what happens is the screen turns bright green with a swirl of white lines on it a crackling noise comes from the set and it then appears to turn off the eht as the set is still on you have to turn it off then back on to regain a picture (maybe) this is a serious problem as last night I had to talk to  my wife instead of snoring in front of the tv please help |
