Yes I am sure, as it was diagnosed by a TV repair place. I just didn't want to sink $150 into a 7 year old 27" TV if didn't have to. Thanks for the response though, as I will definitely NOT be trying this myself. I couldn't solder my finger together if I tried!

Common problem with those sets, however are you sure?

The part itself retails for about $60~70 & while it is easy for an experienced tech, there is good bit of soldering/desoldering involved & possibility of shock hazard due to picture tube holding the charge.---not a procedure for someone who is not familiar.

Hello everyone. I am a newbie, and am looking for information about replacing a flyback for a Sony Trinitron KV-27S45 television. I am handy with computer hardware but have little to no experience fixing electronics. I have three questions:

1) Is replacing a flyback something I could do fairly easily?
2) Is there any soldering involved?
3) How expensive is this part?

Thanks for your help in advance.
