If you have internet acces, you could try to find the "hirens boot cd".

This is a bootable cd-rom, on wich are many tools to acces e.g. a NTFS formated harddisk. And so recover some data!!!

(Should be able to download it via Google)

I have used chkdsk /r and fixboot.exe but no result. Any idea?

Hi!
Windows XP: the boot process stops with the message "UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME".
How can I fix it? / How can I recover files on desktop? Question
