Seems to be some confusion in this regard & no doubt Comcast 's help will be as usefull as a door knob 
As a general rule of thumb, TVguide information is normally broadcast over the RF spectrum & the recorder searches the entire spectrum to find it... so, try hooking up dvd recorder direct to cable & bypass the box just to see... (remember in TV guide set up tell the recorder all the zip etc info, xcept that it is not hooked up to a cable box & turn off unit overnite--bet you will see the guide info next day) Ray |

| I recently purchased a SONY DVD Recorder & Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Combo (RDR-HX715/KIT). I have hooked it up according to instructions, including the set top box controller. I can changes television channels using the DVD remote, so the controller is working. When I press the TV Guide button on the DVD remote I get a TV Guide interface, however, non of the program listings are downloaded. I have left the cable box on and DVD recorder off for more than 24 hours, per the instructions for downloading, to no avail. My cable provider is Comcast and they are no help. Can anyone tell me why I am not getting the TV Guide programming downloads? | |
