I don't have any ideas on the exact problem but it could be a resistor changing value as it heats up. It could also be a problem from startup but you can't see it until the heaters in the tube warm up. Check the resistors and joints (especially around the larger components) on the CRT neck board. Check all powersupplies, especially the B+ for correct voltage and minimal ripple.
Does it change colour if you tap the case? (dryjoint) Does a black and white picture have a blue tinge?

Hi,

I know this is an old set but it's all I have and can't afford a new one.

I had a problem with red horizontal lines so I resoldered the joint on the J13 connector on the DSP (as instructed elsewhere on this site).

Since then the lines have become more faint (faint enough to live with) but the picture now has a distinctly blue tint. It does, however, appear to be OK whilst warming up - slowly changing to blue as it completes starting up.

I am by no means an electonic engineer but I have a soldering iron and can identify components Razz, it is my own set and I'm willing to try anything within reason.

The fact that the picture is OK, albeit temporarily, whilst warming up suggests to me that it can be fixed and that nothing is irretrievably broken.

I could be wrong of course.

Any ideas on what the exact problem is or what I need to do to identify the problem would be gratefully received.

Many Thanks.
