| FYI, the ABxxx error codes on first generation Philips dvdr's have no real meaning & it's generally indicative of software code retrival error within the machine. On the contrary somehow/somewhere on the net, was posted that it refers to Analog Board which has nothing to do with.
In my experience, 99 percent of the time it is generated due to a fault in digital PCB which is impossible to troubleshoot & rather expensive to replace especially in Today's disposable consumer market. |

| Hi, I also have a problem with my Philips DVDR980, on the display it comes up with AB FFCF 2F...Has anyone been able to find out what this problem is & how to fix it ??

hi, I am also very sade ,i have the same problem with my dvdr990....when i am give a reset ( dvdr of the power, push the butom " standby "in en give the power back ) a get the result AB F099cs or AB F092FS... I'm looking for manual for the above dvd recorder......can anyone help me as i have a display fault (AB FFCF2F). This i believe is a fault with the analogue board but i am unable to locate the component. Thanx in advance ADE |
