I've bought a car amplifier about 2 weeks ago , a starsound gladiator 2500W, 350 x 2 rms,700 x 1rms. Sent the amplifier to a family member. After a week I got the amp back. There's no power. Checked the electronics , all 12 mosfets are destroyed and so are the 47ohm resistors connected to the mosfets. The output stages have 8 x TIP35C transistors and 8 X TIP36C transistors. Two of them also shorted out.

My question is , what would cause such a catastrophy as I've never come across a car amp with all the mosfets being blown.

My cousin had 2 x Pioneer 12inch Dvc 1000W subs connected at 8ohm each. The amp handles a minimum of 2ohm.

Please help as I'd like to prevent this from happening again as the amp pcb wouldn't survive a second attack!
