i have had this apex gb5108 tv for serveral years, and just a few weeks ago all the color on the tv has become 1 horizontal wavy line. i can still heard sound. i have read serveral other places blame it on a semiconductor. what could it be? i dont kow where i would buy a semiconductor. any help i give thanks to. |

In other words, your vertical IC crapped out. |

This a easy problem to fix. You say it has a thin line accross the center. Change out IC N301 it is a TDA8351 and it crosses to a NTE7156. Also change R370 it is a 1W/1 Ohm Oxide Metal Resistor
R371 it is a 1W/33 Ohm Oxide Metal Resistor and
R380 it is a 1W/1 Ohm Oxide Metal Resistor.
Be very careful not to short any pins on chip with solder when re-soldering, double check all solder joints for shorts and correct before turning set on. This should fix your problem with the vertical collapse. |

Sounds like you have a vertical failure. I'm assuming you mean the set set has 3 colored lines running horizontally across the screen which indicates a vertical circuit failure. The vertical IC is a semiconductor, however additional parts need to be checked. If you cannot locate this part on the chassis you may want to turn this over to a more experienced person. |
