you will see a small black box like object with two pins sticking up these pins are pushed in when the tray comes in or out one for tray in the other for tray out you could try swich cleaner also there will be wires going to this switch

Hi, I am trying to troubleshoot a common problem on the Pioneer DV-333, where when you press open on the unit or remote, the tray opens and closes repeatedly, not letting one load a disc.

One idea is that the sensing system that is in place so that when you push the tray, it closes, has become "sticky" and operates all the time. Can someone explain to me how the DVD player senses that you have pushed the tray so that it can automatically close?
