Just bought a second hand 6000 CD to replace the 5000 cassette deck in my 1999 Ford Focus.

Everything's fine except the connector for the remote stalk controls. It's a different fit. The connector at the end of the wiring loom in the car is a 20 pin connector, whereas the socket at the back of the new stereo is 6 pin.

I've spoken to Ford and a car audio place and the general consensus seems to be that some 6000 CDs have the 6 pin connector and some have the 20 pin - helpful!

Anyway, does anyone know:

1. is there an adaptor I can buy to convert from 20 pin to 6 pin.
2. if not can i do anything with the wiring loom to sort this out (bearing in mind I have no idea what i'm doing).
