Help !!!!
Could someone help me in identifying the fault for this TV of mine. After few mins. of it being switched on, the screen begins to get filled with 'retrace lines' and then gets steadily white and no picture is seen. I tried tweaking the EHT transformer at the back and it improves it slightly, but the contrast gets ruined and often there is a 'blooming' effect.
One solution I found was that immediately on TV switch on, if I mute the sound using the remote, then the picture remains clear as long as the TV is on. If I connect a set of speakers to the headphone out, I can hear sound .. so really sound from the TV speakers (muted by the remote) isn't required. Yet there must be some fault between the TV sound and this picture wash out. The TV has a NICAM sound system.
Any ideas?
