Do you know if the new jack will just plug into place or does it have to be soldered onto the board? THANKS!! bsf |

This will require a rather involved disassembly. If you are up for it, then you will need to remove the keyboard. However many of the retaining screws will come up from the bottom. Check here for a keyboard removal guide:http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/lpi05729.pdf

|
I need to tear into my HP Pavilion zt1170 laptop and fix or replace a loose power jack. I'm cheap and don't want to spend the $200 for a tech to do it if I can do it myself. How hard is it on the hp zt1170? Can it be accessed from the bottom or do you have to go from the keyboard down?
Anyone have a repair manual on this?
THANKS
