| UPDATE: I used a tube to my ear to locate the sound and I'd swear it's from something marked STR-F6656. |

Samsung HCL4715W 47" TV.
When the TV is plugged in, there is the standard relay click along with a high pitched, oscillating whine. The TV then alternates between the large relay click, followed by some rapid, quiter clicks, then the large relay going off and on, more rapid quiter clicks(sometimes they slow down), etc. The whole time there is the high pitched, wavering whine. I've read similar reports on other TVs and replacing the Horizontal Output Transistor(HOT) fixes the problem.
Suggestions? If a part is in question, what's the number and a good source? |

Samsung HCL4715W 47" rear CRT projection TV. It is dead, no sound or picture. When the set is plugged in there is a repeating clicking sound from the TV.
Any ideas? What cost range am I looking at for repairs? I'm an engineer, so with some detail, I should be able to manage the repairs on my own. |
