Hi, if you are indeed right then i think you will find a lot more damage to your equipment than a blown fuse. In the struggle between god and surge protection (even if you had one fitted), afraid there is only one winner. |

|
Hi, We bought a 50" plasma LG tv 3-3 1/2 years ago. One day suddenly the picture goes black but there's audio. We are debating whether to get a new plasma or try and get it fixed (not knowing if this is a costly venture). I am thinking it could be a blown fuse as two days before we had a thunder and lightning where we had a brief blackout but it blew out our other t.v. Any suggestions? |

Ja wrote: | Hi, The Plasma is some three years old. The Otron model number is EPM420A internal to the tv lg is plastered on all panels, boards, etc. and states a LG PDP42v5. It has a power supply fault it trys to start up but goes into standby. On the PSU there is a switch marked NOR/AUTO. In AUTO it will allow all the low voltages to work 5,9,12 & 30V but the Vs and Vc lines do not come to life I suspect a fault in this section. Can not get much further without some circuit information. Regards, Jas | |
