|
Hello,
I have just been given a second hand photocopier. Its a Canon GP335. It has not been used for about 6 months, and was very dusty. I have given it a good clean and the basic copier seems to work very well.
However the sheet feeder (DADF-A1) is not feeding sheets. I can persuade it to take a single sheet if I push it, and it will happily turn it over for double sided copying. So I think its only the initial feed that causing problems. The paper often shows as a paper jam and its only managed to feed it in a small way.
I have not yet cleaned the feeder (its still a bit dusty) because I'm not sure how to get it apart to do that.
My thoughts on fixing it are to clean the rubber on the rollers with rubber restorer as I suspect that problem is that they have dried out a bit and so are not gripping the paper correctly.
Does this sound like a reasonable suggestion, does anybody who knows about photocopier feeders have any better ideas?
Regards
