Defenitly a supply problem.

Check your supply voltage first, overvoltage will fry IC's very quickly.

Also check your IC outputs for shorts.

IC's are very reliable and you get rarely two faulty ones in a row.

Your question reminds me of my neighbor who told me his radio kept popping fuses all the time. He replaced the 2 amp fuse with a 15 amp fuse so it wouldn't blow again. He was right. The fuse did not blow again. The radio went up in smoke instead. You need to find out why your IC chips are short lived. It could be a problem down stream.

I want something that will last longer then the last set I put in.
The last set lasted 2 hours before they popped.
