I purchased a Sony CD changer CDP-CX450 and found 3 CD's and part of a CD in it and it is doing a few weird things.
What is happening is when I turn it on and open the door, slot #1 comes to the door. When I close the door the carousel turns to take slot #1 to the player. I did not load a cd in slot 1.
But instead of saying "no disc" it tries to load a CD from slot 1, it does that twice and then moves on to slot 3. It will continue on down the line using the odd numbers. I have tried a few experiments. I have loaded slot 1 with a CD and it loads the CD to the player and it is fine. It will play the CD and the programming appears to be OK.
I have also loaded even numbered slots and can access them using the remote. I didn't try without the remote but I don't think that is a problem and I think using the knob on the changer would work ok.
I am an electronic technician but I don't have much test equipment at my disposal. I am thinking it is a sensor that is not working.
I have been trying to find a repair manual for it also.

Anybody have any experience with this and possibly a repair manual?
