Hi everyone, new to the forums. I have a simple question.

At the moment I have a walmart-brand 25" Fullscreen television about 2 or more years old, nothing fancy by any means.

I'm aware of magnetic interference causing colors to distort when magnets or magnetic objects are placed next to the TV.

Here's my dilemma. I have my TV placed next to my wall, near my window with ZERO magnetic items near it. I had my guitar amp close by before and I moved it for the reason that follows.

I had a small purple-greenish spot in the top left corner, and it didn't go away after moving the amp. I'm assuming it's being caused by a beam in the wall or some other interference from outside the wall.

It appears to be more powerful some days and less others. Anyways, I don't care much for this television since I'm going to purchase a Samsung 32" widescreen LCD soon.

What my question is, do magnets still affect newer LCD Flat Panels as they have the elder full screen models?

I like the way my room is set up and would hate to have to re-arrange if I don't have to. But at the same time I want to be COMPLETELY safe with the new TV.

This thing will be brand new and intended to last for years to come. I'd hate for a magnet in the wall to ruin it after a shorter period of time.

Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.
