The telephone line was plugged into the modem and got zapped during a lightning storm. The only component damage was a diode of some sort across the +/- 50v line in socket. The diode is glass of small size with coloured marking bands Yellow, Black, Orange (or other way round). Can I assume that it is a Avalanche diode or some other sort of protection diode? Can someone tell me what I can use to replace it please. |
