turn off closed captioning feature either on tv,most likely,or on direct tv receiver.

Hello to the group Im new here and there seems to be alot of good people in here. I have a Mitsubishi TV model VS 6041just the other night the screen went black, just can see a 4 inch band around the outside border of the picture. If you change channels or lower or raise the volume the normal picture returns for just one moment, then back to the black screen, volume is fine. Oh we have DirecTV satelite. We bought a universal remote and can access the menu screen but can seem to figure anything out, thanks and any help will be much appreciated.
