I've heard of a company out of China who's advertising they'll fix any board for $99. We'll see. Their the Chinese version of PTS.
Please give details about this Chinese company. Where did you hear about them? Web site?
What is PTS? Web page?
Thanks,

How common is it to be able to repair a plasma or LCD TV on the component level? I mean, how often do you find that the cause is a commonly-available component rather than a custom IC?
Just trying to get an idea of how likely it is that one can beat the cost of "board level repair" if one has a service manual and some electronics repair skills.
Are certain brands of these TVs more likely to be "component-level serviceable"?
Thanks,
