| All the video is processed on the digital main, so either the digital main or possibly the sub digital. I would 'guess' main. |
I'm assuming the pioneer has a media center. Then the set is just a monitor. If it has a media center you need to replace the digital board in the media center.
The Pioneer PDP-502MX has video/audio input connectors incorporated in the back of the TV; no separate "media center".
User guide is here:

Service manual is on the way...
Other ideas?
Thanks,

|
Unit powers on, displays selected video input label ("Input 1", etc.). But none of the video sources will display on the screen. Otherwise the TV functions normally (can navigate all menus, etc.).
Odd thing is that this symptom is identical on 2 different brand/model TVs:
Pioneer PDP-502MX 50in
ViewSonic VPW-425 42in
The Pioneer was stored in a garage for a year after this problem occurred. When powered on for the first time in a year it worked like new. Then after 36 hours of light use it again will not display video.
I know that some of these TVs share components/PCBs. Have I come across two TVs with the same OE PCB that failed?
Anyone have experience with this symptom?
Thanks,
