L14401 has bad solder connections and it probably took out the horizontal output transistor. |

| im working on this rear projection tv,the problem is it has a pin cushion on the top and the bottom of the screen,the convergence is mis align and i cant enter the service mode because there's no character so i cant even open the menu. |

So, there wouldn't be a common switch or something "plug-n-play" that goes out on these (frequently) that needs replaced? I haven't opened it up yet to clean and check soldered connections, was just curious if this was common on older TV's, RCA's in general, etc....

It is turning itself off after 5-10 minutes of use. Can be re-started, but same thing continues. It's probably a 25" set, manufactured in June 1998, and is model# F25211BC. Was wondering if there was a common part going bad that would cause this and deciding if cost worthy to repair, or just replace.
