Hi, it seems i have the same problem with my canon 400D as you in 2007. No power after broken pins on CF card. Could you send me the picture or say where is IC burned exactly? because i cant see your picture in forum //forum.eserviceinfo.com/viewtopic.php?p=66819
I have already ordered this IC and have it at home.
Does your 400D work now?

lately found a very small printed mark G2 on the top
and identified it as toshiba TC7SET08FU
http://www.ortodoxism.ro/datasheets/toshiba/209.pdf
Described as 3-5Volt single 2-input AND gate.
Is this part can be burned by shorted CF pins?
Try find this part arround city.. but no one sell it.
cross reference part ST Micro's 74V1T08CTR also
but no seller. Location in Taipei City, Taiwan.

Looks like a typical voltage regulator IC. Without a diagram it would be very hard to determine the actuall voltage rating thou?
---if possible, you could try following the output pin/trace & may get lucky to find some sort of a filter cap on that line that may be marked with voltage rating as a clue?
similiar to? ;
