Intermittent problems such as your description-- can be a real pain to spot. Doubt if it is related to a "design flaw". Are there any mechanical switches of any kind involved in operation of the unit? ---possibility? As far as protection, with the help of schematic, you can monitor any protection line. In general, while there is always a possibility of electronic device failure, in consumer electonics, mechanical issues such as mode select &/or sense switches are usually the root cause of intermittent functions. |
