| my Lg dvd-rw wont power on... on opening it i found the IC703 "03A A03 6" overheating,is there a subtitute for this IC, is there a way to bypass it.. Thanks |

| Most likely, this is a linear regulator, similar to for example the LM1117. If it overheats, then the regulator itself is probably not faulty but the basic problem is that its load draws too much current, perhaps there is a short somewhere in the circuitry supplied via this regulator. Measure the current through the regulator and the voltages before and after it, and compare your measurement results with the values stated in the service manual for the unit as an aid for further troubleshooting. |
