Indeed, this problem is typical when the so-called bootstrap capacitor in the vertical output goes bad. Typically, this is a rather small electrolytic, perhaps 10 uF 50 V, connected with the negative to the output of the vertical IC and the positive to another pin of the same IC.

The best way of finding the vertical output is to study the service manual for the tv. Chances are good that the manual can be freely downloaded here at eserviceinfo.com , but you have to know the tv's model designation and perhaps also the chassis designation to succeed in finding it.

hi i got the following problem on my tv set i got a fold over on top of the screen around 4 inchs large from the top
so i think its a bad capacotor but i cant find where is situated the famous vertical layout on the elctronic board so can someone guiding me please i need help its my only tv set and im not very rich thanks
