Most likely, those touch buttons are using circuitry of the same type as for the channel selection touch buttons of Telefunken (and many other european brand) tv's from the 70's. Usually, there is a pair of ICs, SAS560 and SAS570. They often fail from ESD (electrostatic discharges).
Another problem, in particular in those designs where each touch button is split in two halves, is that dirt or moisture cause bad insulation between the halves. This problem is easily cured by carefully cleaning the button area by, for instance, methylated spirits or isopropyl alcohol. |

|
Can anyone point me to a repair shop capable of repairing a Telefunken "electronic center 6001 hifi" stereo system?
The tuner, pre-amp/amplifier portions work, but the sensor "buttons" for the turntable do not.
These "buttons" are not actually buttons but sensors, that light up green when touched even lightly, there are no moving parts.
This switching is defective for the turntable portion (the 33rpm 45rpm, and stop sensors).
Any tips much appreciated, looking for a repair service in the greater NYC area.
