I to have the same problem. Replaced the convergence IC's and still same problem. The set will not power on. I get the relay clicks and all the led's come on but it makes a whine sound over and over like its trying to start but never comes on. I dont know that is making the high pitched sound but when I touch leg 1 of STR-F6629B with the volt meter the tone of the sound changes. I am going to try replacing that next. Checking voltages on the other Regulators Q777 I get 58 volts on the 2 outer legs. So something is not right.

Convergence IC's will cause a dead set.

The resistors check out good I think it has to do with the power supply.

I'd replace the convergence IC's and check the resistors next.
