90% of the faults on an A10 chassis philips tv are the painter ic, unfortunately the other 10% are usually down to the crt, the crt was used by many different manufacturers in many different models and were incredibly unreliable. fault description is perfect for a failed crt.

I have a PHILIPS 28PW6515/05 witha A10 chassis.
My problem is flyback lines across screen and reddish/purple tint no picture. I have replaced the painter chip as advised by most people saying it is 90% of the problem with philips tv's but still same problem. I am told that their is no electron current to tube (CRT) and that the varrying current is causing the red and blue mixed wash (purple) to appear across the screen. There is no green colour apparently. Theere is a visual light source at the top of the tune(CRT) when it is on. This is it so far everyone tells me that the Painter Chip controls 90% of the problems with philips tv's but it did not repair mine when I replaced it. Please help.
