TV does not stay on ,, it cycles 3 times never giving me a picture , on .. off,.,on ,,, off...on...off..

if TV stays ON after 3 tries then The HV bleeder is OK Change CP150 2200UF/16V CP114 220UF/35V CP120UF/35V

The three blink usually ends up being the high voltage splitter that's up front.

No... Matter of fact I am a computer guy who decided to try to fix his first TV..

So I would check anything or even replace parts that are suggested ,,

Did you check the horizontal out put transistor to see if it was shorted?
