If you use pieces of wire - you're on your own regarding their polarity. |
Thanks everyone for your help. The TV is working like it was new again!
If anyone comes to this thread again, I was concerned after plugging the TV in again that my picture was in black and white. I switched between Ext input and channel 3, and the color came back.
Thanks for the great directions from everyone. |

Apparently you missed.
With the PIP board removed from the TV and the TV now working, that would imply jumper attach to sockets where the board was earlier.

Thanks for the reply.
I missed it being on the VP connector, I saw the two connectors - FP & VP - and didn't understand which connector to jump on.
Thanks for clarifying it for me. |

The pip board is a plug in board to the main chassis. Look for a brown wire going to it. You can jump it by removing the board and jumping pins 5 and 11 with a either a 47uf/50v cap and pins 7 and 9 with a .1uf/50v cap, or just use wire. Most models you don't need the caps you can just use wire. The easiest way is to shove the jumpers into the blue connectors.
Hi Mike –
I am trying to fix a Mitsubishi CK-31302 32” TV and I saw your thread exchange with Minnie back in 2008. Hope your TV is still working. I always liked the picture in this TV and mine just started rolling 18 years later! Lasted well!
Anyway, Minnie told you the quoted message above. I have the PIP board out, But I am stuck. I see from the schematic that both the FP and VP connectors have pins 5 & 11 and 7 & 9. Do I jump the pins on both connectors or just one and if one, which connector?
Hopefully you can help.
Many thanks,
George |

Here is a pic of the repair/jumper for future use/archive. I still have not tried the tv yet because I do not know yet if the brown wire gets cut and remove the pip altogether.

here is a schematic of the ck-31302, from it I figured out the pin layout. Do I need to cut the PIP brown wire and remove it completely?
The .pdf picture needs to be rotated so you can see the pip board.

This may help somebody else in the future... |

ONE MORE THING!!!!
what do I do with the pip-c mdule now... it is hanging there by the brown wire. Do I just wrap it in electrical tape and place it some where on the chasis? Or do i cut the brown wire, and remove it completely? Thanks again... |

Hello,
OK I got the pip-c board out... I see in the other post it is just the VP connector I am concerned about.
So here is a real easy one for you, maybe my eyes cant see it, but where is PIN#1 at? Looking at the connector from the back of the chasis, is pin # 1 closest to me? or by the tube? thanks again for your time... |
