Hi all, this is my first post here so I hope this is OK.
I've got a Gateway GTW-P46M103 in for repair at the moment and narrowed the fault down to the power board (basically turns on, LED glows red, press power & LED flashes then goes green... but no pop or display).
As far as I can tell, voltage isnt getting to the secondary part of the board. I've checked the obvious blown/weak caps, fuses, shorts etc but nothing obvious. There are the M5199P IC's with one a suspect so i've ordered 3 to replace all of them (why not!) but havnt got them yet.
Anyway, if I had the service manual for this then I'm fairly certain I can repair it... I just need to know where to look.
As a side note, i've followed at least 2 other model numbers; CTX PD46WV1 and Tatung P46ACTP so if anyone knows of a more common model name for this set... much appreciated!
Thanks in advance! |
To the best of my knowledge, Gateway service manuals (among many others) do not provide any schematics---just board level & block diagrams especially for plasma.(they call it module format)
Just looked at some 50 & 42's & they are all the same format.
I'm all for component repair but shotgun approach or reverse engineering is obviously uneconomical in a business enviroment but possible. |
