Hello

This fault that you describe it's aboust the INVERTER MODULE.

What I recomend you:

You have on the inverter board that is the same with the power board
some transistors 2SC5707 and some capacitors 150nF/100V
Repalce the capacitors and resoldering the transistors and the little transformers the problem is gotta be solutioned .

Occasionally the display turns off, but the "on" light stays lit=NO BACKLIGHT

I have an HP f1703 17" LCD. Occasionally the display turns off, but the "on" light stays lit. Normally, when you disconnect the data cable, or turn off the pc, the power light on the LCD turns *orange*. It also says a screen message that the PC signal is off, "shutting down", and goes orange. As soon as the data cable sees signal, it turns back to normal (blue). This is like just about every other modern tube and lcd monitor, except the color green is instead blue on the power light.

Of course, with the power button off, the light is dark.

Ok, so sometimes it flickers a bit, or dims slightly for a second or two, then BAM, it shuts off. You disconnect the data cable, reconnect... it works again. Sometimes immediately after that, it does it again. Sometimes not. It's intermittent. When it goes blank, the power light does NOT go orange, and does not show the LCD's native message about the PC signal going away. It stays blue.

It's frustrating. I like this monitor, and right now I'm typing this while using it. So I am hoping it's something minor. I'm not afraid to take something apart and fix it if need be.

I just have no idea where to begin.

Thanks in advance.

Seems to do it less often when I turn the brightness and contrast down low.
