Can anybody please advise on a friends Hitachi 42" Plasma Model Number 42PMA225EZ which died shortly after switch on.

The tv powered up okay, and he left the room to make a brew only to return about 1 minute later to find the set dead and a very small puff of smoke from the rear vents.

The set is totally dead, with no standby led or other signs of life. I've checked all of the fuses, both conventional and SMD types on each internal pcb, and all check out okay. Visually, there are no obvious burned components and no charcoal turned diodes / resistors or bulging caps, and nothing obvious inside the cabinet smells burned out either.

Has anybody come across a similar fault on this model and who could perhaps point me in a possible direction / solution?. If anybody has a copy of a service manual it would be much appreciated.
