Could be a ground loop issue between some of your equipment. If any of the equipment that is plugged in has a non-polarized plug (a plug where one of the pins is fatter than the other) try unplugging it, rotating it 180 degrees, and plugging it back in to your electrical outlet. Doing this switches the neutral to hot pins on the plug and can often fix noise issues as you have described. Try one device at a time.

If the satellite box has a volume control, turn it down or it's in the satellite box.

Hi. I need some help. I have my satellite receiver box plugged into a pre amp, which is connected to my main amp, which is connected to 2 big klipsch speakers. Whenever I power up the amps for the speakers to work, they work fine on regular volume, but when i lower the volume, you start hearing this loud buzz, that most of us are familiar with. I don't know if theres a name for this buzz or not, but I've heard it many other times in other occasions as well. Can anyone help me out? What am I doing wrong? Speakers and amps work fine with a cd player or any other source, besides the satellite box.
