Unfortunately these units are made as throw away's. I'll look it up but I already did a quick check and found nothing. |

sMIT,
Thanks so much for your reply.
I smell no burn smell.
I have taken the top cover off the unit and can see all the magical parts in there.
My skills in this department of low. But I can definately execute the diagnosis ( if I have the necessary tools) and repair with some direction.
My first question would be how do I identify the PSU board?
I am going to looked for leaked or swollen capacitors now. |

Hi there,
I dont know this model exactly and not sure of your skills but the first thing to check would be a quick search of the PSU board and look for any type of fuse. Usually on the PSU board there will be a glass fuse and you can see quiet easily if its blown.. Look for leaked/swolen capacitors.
Last thing: If it has no power is there a burn smell from the rear of the unit ? |

Hello Everyone,
I hope someone can help.
We saved up for a long time to afford a surround sound and dvd unit....our first.
It worked for a year and now it is totally dead.
No warranty left.
It simply has no power.
It won't turn on......it just does nothing.
The model is a samsung HTX-40.
I am hoping that someone call help me fix myself. I have good hands...just no working knowledge of electonics.
Do these have a fuseable link, or fuse or something I can test ?
I have a good meter and can test things if necessary.
Any help is appreciated. |
