Thanks. Didn't know 7-Zip had that feature, adding files. So apparently I was doing it slightly wrong, because I was extracting before adding them all together.

Turns out HP actually gave me a copy of the service manual as a PDF, so now I don't need to download it on ESI. Sorry if I've been a pain.

...One more time;
Based on your description(same name/overwrite/broken) sounds like you may have it all confused.
There should never be a need to overwrite anything.
There are 6 compressed files. While the first 5 files are the same size, NONE are the same; (numbered differently at the end). They MUST stay that way and ONLY the first can be extracted.
If 7zip is complaining of a broken download, you are either trying to extract the wrong file(wrong order download)OR have already over written it OR your ISP happened to hickup & corrupt your download in the first attempt.

Before extracting anything, you can always dload each file in a folder, open 7zip, add the files and use the built in "test" feature within the program.

Thanks, but I did that already. It extracted the first file and told me it was broken. It didn't attempt extracting the rest. I'm using 7-Zip, which has always worked perfectly for me when unzipping RAR files. Apparently 7-Zip handles this differently. My trial for WinRAR ran out, and I'm a stickler for abiding by policies, so I removed WinRAR when the trial was up.

If its a multipart download, then all the files will extract when you double click on the first file. No need to extract each file.
When all else fails, try reading the directions.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong. Here are the steps I followed:

Download all six rar files.

*Extract the first one. Used 7-Zip. Got a warning stating the file was broken, but extract was successful.
*Extract the second one. 7-Zip asked whether to overwrite the file or not (they all contained a single file with the same name). Not doing so wouldn't allow the second to be unzipped, and doing so would overwrite the first one. It's right here that I decided I needed some help.

After contacting HP, I was informed that this document isn't supposed to be available to the public, so I'm not interested in downloading it anymore, but I would like to know what I was doing wrong.

Also-- seeing as how the answer I received was a bit short, vtech, I don't exactly regret accidentally forgetting to type "thanks in advance". However, having said this, I'd better be polite from here out.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me successfully resolve this and anyone who tries.

It's in six parts...how do I do this? I attempted extracting them, but I get a message that says each of them is broken and I'm not able to open the PDF that I get out of them. Is there a way to combine the files or something? What am I missing?

....There is nothing wrong with the files. You need to download all sections & that is how it works....& how about adding a "please" or a "Thank" note?
