Ive had 2 Hitachis, one Samsung, and an Apex GB5108 do this.Power supplies tested fine.I resoldered everything.checked the remote board,OK.The TVs should have stayed on.The convergence ICs were burnt where the pins go in.Replaced the ICs and the TVs worked.

On my tv they are behind the flyback in rear of board. They are huge black mult pin ICs mounted side by side on a heatsink.

Have you tried searching "Search" above for your chassis number? I found at least three listings.
Now whether these actually apply to your situation???

I have a Hitachi 51UWX20B that over the last year has given me some trouble. When I turn it on, it shuts off after about 2 seconds. This problem has come and gone. Well, now it is back to stay. Please Help!
When it is exibiting this condition, I opened up the back and I watched all the LEDS come on. (4 green and 1 Red). 1 problem the Red (D915) quickly glows brighter as well as 2 green ones (D940 and D928) Then the TV shuts off.
I have downloaded the Hitachi service manual for the DP23 Chassis.
I also have disconnected the 10 pin header that connects the power supply board to the Deflection board and powered up the set. It stays on, but obviously I have no picture/sound and it acts a little funky. It takes a number of presses on the switch to get it to turn back off or on.

I have a fair amount of electrical background so I think I could fix it if someone could point me in the right direction.

PLEASE HELP!!!
