Pull the lamp out and stick your meter leads into the ballast connector. Normal is around 370 volts.

Hello,
I am working with a Panasonic PT-44LCX65 projection TV.
It has sound but no picture. The projector bulb is not coming on.
I cant tell by looking at the bulb whether or not its actually bad.
I would like to see whether the bulb is actually getting voltage or not.
The service manual does not say what the voltage is supposed to be
going to the bulb from the ballast circuit board (I'm assuming its high voltage). Can I check the voltage without a bulb (or load) connected,
and what should the approximate voltage be? I have a high voltage
test probe that can handle up to 40KV If need be. I don't want to
get a bulb just to find out that the ballast assembly is bad also.
So I would like to check and see if the ballast is putting out voltage
first.

Thank you
