First of all it's a 27". (If were a 32" it would be "32GT613")

Tuner shield "grounds" are a common problem. Tapping or "Twisting" the whole chassis should produce a number of differing symptoms. (Even if you "Have checked solder joints in the turner section.")

If it is a bad joint at fault remove tuner shield covers, then resolder the perimeter connections AND the various ground joints out in the field of the tuner. You should be and to look from the top of tuner and see where each punctures the board. (approx 10 - 12, if memory serves).

The EEPROM can become corrupted by bad grounds also.

I'm having a problem with a GE tv model # 27gt613. When first plugged in the audio for the tv is loud and the indicator on the screen is at full. You can turn the volume down but cannot go back the a higher volume until screen volume indicator changes. The indicator stays on high and does not change for several minutes, then goes to normal. If tv is turned off and turned back on, it works fine. It's only when tv has been unplugged that this happens. Have checked solder joints in the turner section. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
