| Most likely, the component in the base station that controls switching of the phone line (usually a transistor or a relay) has failed. It is very common that lightning surges on the phone line causes such damage. | |

none of the handsets will disconnect the line when the off button is pressed on the handset. the screens will go blank but the phone stays busy when called from outside line. I can disconnect the phone cord for a second and i can make another call. I called uniden and did a phone reset that consists of unplugging power and pressing the delete button while plugging in the power plug until it beeps . this did not work. I hooked up another cordless in its place and it works fine.what would cause this to happen? for some reason it is not hanging up and releasing the line  |
