The problem is not the cable, the problem may be those hard drives are too big for this laptopts you have to install a smaller hard drives. I will also recomend you to uptade the BIOS of all the trecras, before you replace the hard drives it may fix the problem.

If you have any questions
Plese contact me.

I have 4 toshiba tecras.

8000, 8100, 8200 and a 9100.

All use the same harddrives of which I swap several 80 gig, 40 gig and a few smaller 12's and 20's, and two of the new 100 gig seagates. All have functioned PERFECTLY over the last two years!

Never had any problems, until now, a new shipment order of four 80 gig drives, none work.

Then I had the dealer take those back as doa, and got four more, which also do not work.

The 80 gig drives that do work, that I have had a while, are all MK8025GAS ZEI1 S

The new ones are MK8025GAS ZEO1 T

My question first is, are my laptops not compatible with CableSelect ONLY drives as well.

And, how would I be able to tell if these newer drives are Master or Cable Select only?

Thanks
