Misprint - IS a "K."
Also check bias resistors for ICs.
Specify that you'ld like original Toshiba parts and obtain from a reputable source.
My opinion: I always replace "like with like" (if available) and install with fresh heat sink compound. I've observed little difference in longevity with upgraded chips.
As far as carpet: Electronic parts don't have the ability to "sweat" and thus require good ventilation. |

|
For 3 years+- I'v had a 43H70 which gave me that blinking power indicator problem (Blinks about every 5 secs, and if you hit the power button, changes to every second) when I shut the TV off, then back on within a few minutes. If I wait for about 30 minutes +-, then try turning it on, it comes back on with no problem. Now you can hear it try to power-up, but all you get is that blinking indicator. Probable cause: Covergence chips . The Part's list in Service Manual I downloaded from FSM lists Q751 & Q752 as 1ea STR392-110 versus STK392-110 I've only seen mentioned on the forum. Is the "R" a misprint? If not-are the "K" & "R"interchangeable? (I'm looking at possibly replaceing the -110's with a better chip). I haven't opened up the TV as yet to see what it has installed. Wanted to have the parts on-hand to replace the chips as a one time shot. I really don't want to move that TV more then once. Plus- there's something about some manfacture's chips have a problem: They don't last long, and Rumor has it that the air ventilation (From the bottom) may be cut off if the TV sets on carpet thus possibly causing the chips to overheat-I.e. They blow.
Is there any one that can confirm and/or has any recommendations on the above (possible) problem areas?
Thanks[/b] |
