I actually took the advice of the local repairman and replaced the mainboard myself and the tv still behaves exactly the same. so obviously, its not the main board. sorry, i did this before seeing the reply about the scalar board. just to clarify, the scalar board is just a different board? replacing the main board was pretty simple - just unscrew and replace, reconnect all the grounds and cables. should replacing the scalar board be this simple? also i assume that all lcd tvs have scalar board?

thanks

A complete model # would help.

Unplug the tv overnight, you cant put this tv in service mode with remote. If unplugging it doesnt work, you need a scaler board,

My tv is stuck rotating from a "red, blue, and green" screen and I had a tech come out and he said that it appears to be stuck in factory "test mode." His recommendation is that either the board needs to be replaced or that entering a particular combination on the remote (code) might be able to pull the tv out of "test mode." Does anyone know if this sounds accurate and if so where I could find these codes to try and pull the tv out of test mode?

Thanks
