If you don't have any electronics experience, I would recommend that you don't do this yourself. Even with the power off and the set unplugged you can still get a nasty shock.

Hi Everyone,

I have a 42" plasma TV that wont turn on. The little research Ive done points to 1 of 3 internal components possibly being bad. I need to open up the TV and test the A/V board, the PDP board, and possibly others.
Can anyone here at this forum tell me How to test these internal components? I have the basic voltmeter, ... but have no idea if I need anything else or where to start.
The thing wont turn on and is basically a 42" paperweight right now so I figures what the hell, Ill try to fix it myself and learn something in the process.

I believe the model number is GTW-P42102

Hhere is a link to the service manual. Id like to open up the tv and test the image board but have not idea what to do to test it once I get to it to test to see if its good or bad.
Anybody have knowledge of this they are willing to share with me?
Thank you in advance!
