I used to know a guy who could re solder hard drive chips, with his eye site he could manage extremely small connections where as most people's hands shake to much.

If you are really into doing that you could run memtest86

That would give you the bad coordinates, and I have no idea how you would map that to which chip it is on. But even to see this test you would have to be running it on a computer. Where I have no idea how to get one still running SDRAM, then I suppose you would do some real precision soldering to exchange it from a known good chip. You'd be best just to get another one. It sucks that they're obsolete.

I'm curious though, what form of SDRAM can't you get anymore? I know they will eventually all be obsolete and unsupported, but I thought they were all still available.

Any body have a direction to repair sd ram modules that has any problume.
A way to find faulted chip(s) and replace it to repair this discontiniued modules.
