Coulda picked a better topic title than "Anybody know"... anybody know what? Who's gonna read that? Anyway, as to your question, I wouldn't know where to refer you, other than HP themselves. If you want "routine maintenance", backup your data and use the laptop's "Factory Restore" feature, then avoid downloading all the crazy registry-cleaners and fake security software from all over the internet. Uninstall McAfee or Norton that came with it, and install AVG, which actually catches viruses and malware. Go to "Programs and Features" in the Windows 7/Vista control panel and remove the crap software you don't use or care for. Failing that, and if you really want to part with your money, you can send me your laptop and I can do it for a small fee. But I don't know about the whole Kenya to USA shipping cost thing. While the price I charge is far less what the shop I work for (and do almost all the repair work for) charges, I still think that would be more expensive than simply looking up a reputable local repair shop |
